Amateur filmmaker Thierry Guetta's project to chronicle the underground world of street art takes a fascinating twist when he meets Banksy, an elusive British stencil artist, in this Oscar-nominated documentary. Unimpressed with Guetta's footage, Banksy takes over filmmaking duties while Guetta reinvents himself as a street artist and -- much to Banksy's surprise -- immediately becomes a darling of the Los Angeles art scene.

In 2003, the U.S. government allocated an astounding $12 million to apprehend the elusive Tommy Chong -- better known as half of the classic comedy team Cheech and Chong -- for selling bong-like glass pipes over the Internet. In this fascinating documentary featuring interviews with Richard "Cheech" Marin, Jay Leno and Bill Maher, filmmaker Josh Gilbert chronicles the sting that came to be known as "Operation Pipe Dream."

An insomniac corporate drone (Edward Norton) meets roguish rebel Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), and together they form a cathartic but brutal underground society in which men fight each other freely in director David Fincher's sharp Oscar-nominated flick. But the line between reality and sleepless haze begins to blur when propagandist Durden transforms Fight Club from a group of non-conformists into a nihilistic cult. Helena Bonham Carter co-stars.

Smartly blending slapstick and sarcasm, this MTV sketch comedy show features hysterical skits populated by off-the-wall characters like catchphrase-dropping Louie, angry teenager Doug and former Hollywood agent James Dixon. "State" cast members such as Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, David Wain, Ben Garant and Kerri Kenney have collaborated on subsequent projects, including "Stella," "Reno 911!" and "Wet Hot American Summer."

PULP FICTION

A burger-loving hit man (John Travolta), his philosophical partner (Samuel L. Jackson), a drug-addled gangster's moll (Uma Thurman) and a washed-up boxer (Bruce Willis) converge in this sprawling, comedic crime caper fueled by director and co-writer Quentin Tarantino's whip-smart dialogue. Their adventures unfurl in three stories that ingeniously trip back and forth in time, resulting in one of the most audacious and imitated films of the 1990s.

Known as "the black Godfather," Nicky Barnes was one of the most powerful drug lords in the history of New York City, transforming himself from a down-and-out junkie to an infamous multimillionaire kingpin. Marc Levin's fascinating documentary recounts the rise and fall of this notorious figure, with Barnes himself breaking a 23-year-long silence to share his perspective on his legendary story.

MR. UNTOUCHABLE

2007 R 91 minutes

Sensing a God-given mission to cleanse the earth of all evil, twin brothers Conner (Sean Patrick Flanery) and Murphy (Norman Reedus) set out to rid Boston of crime. But instead of joining the police force, these Irish Americans decide to kick criminal butt their own way. Willem Dafoe co-stars in writer-director Troy Duffy's crime thriller as the openly gay FBI special agent who's assigned to investigate the siblings' activities.
